Hey

I’m Pinar. I’m from Izmir, Turkey.

I’m a UX Product designer with over three years of experience. With a background in architecture and a passion for psychology, I bring my unique perspective to UI/UX design. I specialize in crafting intuitive, human-centered digital experiences that look good and solve real-life problems. I prioritize clarity, usability, and incremental but lasting impacts.

Let’s create together!

UI/UX

Usability, Communication, Leadership, Accessibility

For the past 3 years, I’ve been creating with diverse groups. I observe what makes people come together and work better.

During my work with startups, I learned how to step up as a leader when needed.

When I was the instructor of the basic design course, I realized the gaps in how we are trained to become designers and did my best at that time to create a solution.

Before

Visual Design, Teamwork, Testing, Ergonomics, Cognitive Psychology

I started designing with architecture, and I learned visual design and teamwork.

My focus shifted to user psychology and ergonomics during my master’s in Product Design. I learned the importance of testing early and frequently.

I had the opportunity to explore more about cognitive psychology during my MSc in Human-Computer Interaction.

Violin

Dedication, Discipline

I started playing the violin when I was 7, and this taught me that whatever thing you put your time and energy into, that thing will improve.

I remember practicing the basics for the first 15 years of playing the violin, and only after that much time did I realize the fun of making music to my ears. This timeline could be shorter if my life revolved around practicing the violin.

Aikido

Self Control, Stress Management

I remember when I first started the class, I could barely control my breath. However, the point was to dance with the 気 (energy) so that you can allow forces to pass through you.

This made me realize that whatever happens in life, mentally and physically, the control will always be in my hands.

Photography

Gratitude, Acceptance

Framing your surroundings in a way that makes you feel joy made me realize I am actually surrounded by limitless joy. Whatever is present around can be interpreted as beautiful, joyful, or aesthetically pleasing.

Just pick how you frame and where you stand.

Location

Culture, Confidence, Trust

I was born and raised in İzmir, Turkey, and did my master’s in the USA. This specific combination made me realize how our thinking is shaped just because we speak a certain language.

I landed at Des Moines International Airport to do my masters without knowing anyone there. Enduring that type of change and chaos made me realize I can handle whatever life throws at me.
